Abstract
This study aims to analyze the impact of education and employment opportunities on income distribution in Probolinggo Regency. Education and employment opportunities are important factors in improving community welfare and reducing economic inequality. This study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with informants from various educational backgrounds and occupations, supported by field observations and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to gain a comprehensive understanding of the relationship between education, employment opportunities, and income distribution. The results show that education level significantly influences employment opportunities and community income levels. People with higher education tend to have broader employment opportunities, more stable jobs, and higher incomes than those with lower education. Furthermore, unequal access to employment opportunities, particularly between urban and rural areas, contributes to income inequality. Education and employment opportunities together shape income distribution patterns in Probolinggo Regency, where inequality in education and employment access contributes to income differences between individuals and groups. Therefore, increasing educational equality and expanding access to employment opportunities are strategic steps in creating a fairer distribution of income and improving community welfare.
